May 2007 through June 2007
May 6, 2007
Gauges and controls are now
fitted.
Morse engine controls, Faria
Tach, Speedo, Fuel, and Volt
gauges.
Teleflex Safety Q rotary helm.
I don't like the plastic steering
wheel so I ordered a Stainless
Steel Destroyer-type wheel.
Translation - mucho bucks.
The free boat is getting pricey!

Most of the work I have been
doing lately is running wiring and
rigging. There's not many
pictures to show of that. BUT,
after I sat the console in the boat,
I didn't like the way it looked. It
was too tall. So I cut the top off of
it, changed the angle, glued up a
mahogany and teak top, and
re-fitted everything.
Proportionally, it fits the boat
much better.

June 3, 2007
Here is the top of the console
following 2 coats of epoxy and
3 coats of Interlux Perfection
2-part varnish. People ask me
if it is good varnish. I really
don't have anything to compare
it to. This is the first time I've
used varnish. I like the way it
applies and the results. 2-part
means the process goes much
quicker. Remember - I've got
that patience issue I'm dealing
with!
This is African Mahogany and
African Teak edge glued and
bored for the Faria Gauges.
June 3. 2007
The interior is coming along.
The starboard side has a
removable panel to access
wiring and controls.
The anchor locker is built in the
front. The boat will have an
anchor pulpit and I wanted a
place to store the anchor rode
out of the way and off the deck.
June 17, 2007
Interior with 1st coat of
Hawthorne Polyurethane Yacht
paint. Access panel in floor
and removable starboard side
panel to access controls.
Outer Starboard rub rail is
installed as well as stern light,
rod holders, and gas filler neck.
July 5, 2007
Console fitted and rigged.
The windshield folds forward
and removes for storage and
trailering. It still has the
protective covering on the
Lexan.
July 6, 2007
Center Console seating
complete. It is not installed yet
while I wait on the deck paint to
harden. There is an
icechest/livewell under the seat
and the seat-back flips forward to
sit off the back and fish.
